bull sharks can live in freshwater for long periods of time. They are euryhaline, meaning they can survive in both salt and fresh water.

filmmaker Dave Riggs placed a tag on a great white shark he nicknamed Alpha Shark. His aim: to track its movements with a team of researchers. Four months later, the tag is found washed up on a beach, and the data it reveals is disturbing to say the least.

The data ruled out common great white predators like killer whales (orcas) due to their limited dive depth. This led to speculation about a gigantic, unknown predator, potentially a colossal great white shark engaged in cannibalism.

Based on markings, some shark experts now believe the Oahu great white was not Deep Blue. They dubbed this individual Haole Girl. Haole is a Hawaiian word for non-local, denoting the likely alien status of the shark. Best guesses put the Hawaiian shark in the same size league as Deep Blue, about 20 feet long.

Arthur Gava Medici, 26, of Revere, died Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Cape Cod Hospital. He was born in Vitoria, Espírito Santo, Brazil, the son of Itamar Alfredo Medici and Denise Lucia Gava. Arthur was a graduate of Godofredo Schneider High School in Vila Velha, ES, and was studying Civil Engineering at Universidade Vila Velha before moving to Revere four years ago. He was a student at Bunker Hill Community College where he majored in Engineering. He worked at The Capital Grille in Burlington for several years and also in a restaurant in Boston. He was a member of the Maranatha Christian Church in Revere and was very active in the Church. He was also part of its Praise Group. Arthur loved surfing, snowboarding, paintballing, hiking, fishing, fresco ball and soccer. His favorite team was Botafogo. Arthur touched the lives of all he met, through his kindness and compassion. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, selfless ways and huge heart.

Valerie May Taylor (born 9 November 1935) is an Australian conservationist, photographer, and filmmaker, and an inaugural member of the diving hall of fame. With her husband Ron Taylor, she made documentaries about sharks, and filmed sequences for films including Jaws (1975)
