The adrenaline seriously kicks in and makes it feel way easier than expected😂🐻 It was probably one of the most nerve-wracking things we’ve ever done—but also one of the most unforgettable. 🥹 If you’re planning to catch a sunrise here, I’d highly suggest going with a group. This might be the best 24-hour itinerary for Olympic National Park 👀🌲 We explored this incredible park in September 2024 and packed as much as we could into a single day! From waterfalls to coastal sunsets, here’s everything you need to know to plan your own adventure: 🚗 Start your day: 🏔️ Madison Creek Falls MUST DO: Quick .2-mile walk to a stunning waterfall. We were there in September but in the summer we’ve seen pictures of it much more full 🌀 Devil’s Punch Bowl MUST DO: A 2.5-mile hike with crystal blue water. Feel free to take a dip but it is COLD 🥶 🩵 Marymere Falls MUST DO: A 1.5-mile hike to a picture-perfect cascade. We loved the hike to the waterfall more than the waterfall itself. But again, we were there in September so it wasn’t nearly as full as it is in the summer. 🌲 Big Maple Leaf Tree, Fairholme MUST DO: A short walk from the parking lot to see a massive maple. Also walk out to the boat pier for a beautiful view of Lake Crescent 🥾 Sol Duc Falls MUST DO: A 1.8-mile hike to one of the park’s most iconic waterfalls! This one was pretty busy so get there early! BONUS 🌅 Sunset at Cape Flattery Cape Flattery is not in the national park but it is on Makah land and requires their pass which we paid 20 dollars for at the time. But be sure to look it up on the internet in case the price has changed. MUST DO: A 1.2-mile trail to the westernmost point in the continental U.S.—perfect for ending the day! You can’t miss this hike in Mt. Rainier National Park 🤯🏔️ We did this hike at sunset, so the first 3 miles weren’t in the dark, but the last 3 were. 🫣 we weren’t in Grizzly territory but there are black bears so still come prepared with bear spray. 🐻 And this was actually the first hike we ever used head lamps… we honestly can’t believe we ever hiked in the dark without them. You NEED to stop here on your trip to Wyoming🏔️✨ We have been to Jackson Hole many times but had no idea this hot spring existed 🤯 it’s only 20 minutes south of town and is the perfect place to relax after hiking in Grand Teton. Astoria Hot Springs sits right along side the snake river.
