Exactly one year ago today, I was in Tahiti — injured, sad, uncomfortable in my body, and mentally spiraling. I felt heavy in every way. Disconnected from the sport, from any kind of purpose, from myself. I remember thinking, maybe this chapter is over. This Sunday, I’m racing my first triathlon of the year. Clear-headed. Grounded. Stronger than I’ve been in a long time. There was no big breakthrough moment. Just small, quiet choices — made on the days no one was watching — that slowly brought me back to life. A year ago, I didn’t know if I had anything left in me. “This week, I’m toeing the start line — not as who I used to be… but as who I fought to become”

I’m staying this time. 🥰 No more running away. 💓

WHAT IS THIS !??😭😭

Me, my twin, and my mom - recieved so much h8 on us celebrating our birthdays. We all have the same birthday. 🥰

I woke up this morning full of HOPE and excitement! 🤩 I can’t believe it’s a RACE MORNING! 🙀 I feel brand new!! 🆕 I Immidiatley grabbed my phone, as you do, and was looking at some notifications and to my surprise, someone commented how the swim portion to this race is CANCELLED! 🙀 OH NO! Not good for me!! 🫩🫨😭 I NEED a swim. I just do. It sets me up 🆙 right for my day. Since there was no swim, that means we are time trial starting - by bib number?? AND IM 874! 😭 oh dear, this couldn’t be off to a worse start fam. 😵 My start time now was pushed back 90 minutes. 😕 But, I remained hopeful, and told my friend Clinty @clintondow_ that I want to just make it a GOOD training day and a good effort!!! ☺️ And suppose I did that. 🙂‍↔️ I worked really hard. The bike was kind of a train wreck. You see - starting in 874th place ment for the next two hours I would be bopping and weaving - with one goal - DON’T run into anyone! 😩 It came to a point - actually.. multiple points… that it was either CRASH 💥, or slightly ride over the center line, and what do you know!?? A referee pulls up next to me on a scooter and I’m carded. 😟🥺 I said, FOR WHAT !? On WHAT CHARGES!? WHATS MY CRIME?! 😩 IM INNOCENT!!! 😌 He said - crossing the center line - and I said, oh yah, I sure did do that. A lot!! …. lol 🧎‍♂️😭 #guilty 🤭🫣 I’m sorry that just wouldn’t have happened if I wasn’t next to dead last starting. 😤🙄 But I digress. 🫲🏻 The bike ends, (thank goodness)… and though I’m deflated with ZERO clue what place I’m in, I was determined to have a good half marathon. 🙂‍↔️🤩 And I DID!!🥰🥰🥰 For me I did. A 1:26 on a hilly course on a humid day - I’ll take it! And boy was that a hilly course. Hilliest half marathon I’ve EVER done! But I’m from Oklahoma, so like, that’s not saying much. I determined to have a good race this year. Something I can come on here and say, “I CRUSHED IT!”.... but this is not that day. 🙂 I am not satisfied and I am hungry to get better. ❤️‍🩹 I enjoyed meeting so many of you guys today after the race. Getting stopped legit every 30 seconds walking back to the hotel was the highlight of my weekend. 🥰
