We could have walked away…..but we didn’t…….sometimes all they need is a chance

We can’t save them all, but we can show them all love. Handsome Today I am 8 days old. Today was “Help A Horse Day” They say the mind has a way of protecting itself, by blocking out the bad things that haunts our memories. Let me tell you about my beautiful wonderful life. Each and every day, I had breakfast delivered. My feet hurt from neglect in my past life, so my food was brought to me, where I stood. Alfalfa? Oh I was fed the best alfalfa in these parts. I was given that wonderful alfalfa not once, not twice, but 3 times a day, (keep in mind it was just a bit at a time). Then around 3:00 each afternoon Alex and Bella, came to visit. They brought me yet more feed and that amazing alfalfa (where has this stuff been my whole life?) I can feel the fullness coming back to my stomach, it’s as if I can barely remember ever being hungry at all. My days consist of resting in the fields or grazing on the tender green grass as it reaches for the April sun. Yes I’ve had a blessed life. Brushed each day, having my feet gently picked up and cleaned, before having them wrapped. Each day twice a day I received this medication that helped with this ungodly pain in my feet. The pain, shoots up my legs, even into my shoulders and hips. Today was even more special. Alex and Bella, brushed my mane and tail. Bella attempted to brush the hair over the rest of my body, however due to the life, I once lived my hair continues to fall out in clumps. Bella and Alex feed me a treat of some tender grass from the creek bank. I see the tears in Payton’s eyes, I know. I know today is my last day of this beautiful life. The last day, I get to hear Payton say “Hi there Handsome Man”. The last day the others bring that wonderful Alfalfa to my paddock. The last day of this beautiful life, but what a beautiful life. Today I say goodbye because of this pain, this unimaginable pain. Today the pain goes away. I stand here, reflecting on my life, my life started the day I was unloaded off the trailer at the gas station and delivered to Payton and her team. Today I am 8 days old and I was 8 days old the day I died. ……….Handsome Today for “Help A Horse Day” I helped your baby out of pain. I made sure he was brushed. I made sure he had a full belly of his favorites and I kissed him and told him, how amazingly he was and how much he was loved……..#foryou #rescue #foryoupage #fyp #animalshelter

Now who’s the Crazy Chicken Lady😂😂😂. I bought 11 straight run, sickly, on sale chickens and 3 guinea hens that day @Ruralking. All 14 were hens and all 14 lived. For years I’ve always went in with the sole purpose of buying the sick chicks. I’ve had several associates over the years to offer them to me (Free). I remember my mom telling one of them, “She has saved her money for this day” “If you don’t take it, we’ll just be back tomorrow”😂. I personally think Rural King should give me all their sick babies…..dont you #ruralkingchicks #ruralking #eggs #chickens

You know what joy is. Joy is seeing this baby jump on the furniture…..watching Pongo take care of him. Seeing him make such a 360 from last night. We aren’t out of the woods just yet, but on the right track. Discovered the nanny goat sold with this sick baby isn’t even the momma (no milk, no cry, doesn’t appear to be interested in this baby at all, but seems healthy) therrrrrrefore, Pongo is the new baby daddy….sweetest. Side note: Save me the “OMG you have animals in your house”. Our house is lived in with lots of love and Love trumps a clean floor any day. Plus we have a carpet and upholstery cleaner.#goals #babygoats #rescue

Not the update we wanted to bring. We were back at the vet’s office today. He said these little ones are so hard and this little guy has a rough road ahead of him.

Wellllll….someone is feeling stronger today. I know they said not to get our hopes up, yet here we are…..hopes are up.

When I post a horse that has been severely neglected, I love the warm wishes and the prayers. Then we have negative Norman. “You do realize once you get them healthy, you won’t be able to touch them any more, right”. Ok Norman. I added what she looked like when she came in at the end of this video. See I don’t just take them in to fatten them up, I throw a little love in there too. Norm dont you just love when she backs up, just to get in a better spot for me to love on her? Crazy right Love ya Norm
