Headed to your menopause or perimenopause appointment? Ask these 3 questions—and pay attention to the answers. 1. Are you willing to discuss hormone therapy? → Red flag if they say no outright, dismiss your symptoms, or bring up outdated fear-mongering about risk. 2. What percentage of your patients are using hormone therapy? → Red flag if they say “almost none”—that likely means they’re not offering it, not that no one needs it. → Red flag if they say “100%”—that suggests a one-size-fits-all approach, which isn’t good medicine either. 3. Which types of hormone therapy do you offer? → Red flag if the only option is pellet therapy. That’s an ethical red flag. Pellets are not FDA-approved, often deliver supraphysiologic doses, and can be expensive and irreversible for months. There are multiple safe, effective, and customizable options—like transdermal estrogen, micronized progesterone, and more. Your care should never be limited to one method. You’re not being difficult. You’re being informed. And that’s powerful. #menopause #perimenopause #drmaryclaire #thenewmenopause #hrt #womenshealth #menopauseadvocate

I’m a menopause expert. I teach this. And still… There were things about my own menopause that shocked me. I wasn’t prepared for the sleep disruption. Or how suddenly alcohol wrecked my night. Or how fast my cholesterol spiked. Or how my joints ached when I got out of bed. Or the unexpected shifts in my mental health. Menopause is not just hot flashes. Swipe through and then check the caption below where I share how I resolved many of these issues. It wasn’t magic. It wasn’t just a prescription. It was approaching my health like a toolkit. Yes, hormone therapy (I’m on a combination that includes Yazmin and estradiol) made a real difference. But so did: • Rebuilding my nutrition — prioritizing protein, plants, and fiber • Replacing cardio-only workouts with resistance training • Prioritizing deep, restorative sleep • Taking evidence-based supplements to support muscle, bone, and brain health • Putting up boundaries and refusing to carry other people’s drama anymore Menopause cracked me open — and in the process, I rebuilt something stronger. 🧰 Tap the link in bio for free resources, downloads, and tools to build your own menopause toolkit.
