What you’ll need: Ground beef 1 medium cooked Sweet potato 2 eggs Lettuce Tomato Onion Ketchup Mayo Mustard Salt/pepper/red pepper flakes/chili powder Directions: 1. Season the Beef: In a bowl, mix your ground beef with your favorite seasonings. Mash everything together until well combined. 2. Make the Waffle Batter: In a separate bowl, combine the mashed sweet potato and two eggs. Mix thoroughly until it forms a batter-like consistency. 3. Cook the Waffles: Lightly spray your waffle maker (or a skillet if you’re going the pancake route) and pour in the batter. Cook until golden and set. 4. Prep the Burger Patties: While the waffles are cooking, start shaping your burger patties (I did 2ish ounce patties). Happy Pride Month! 🌈 I’m a cis gendered woman with PCOS who is married to a cis gendered man. 💍 Not that it should matter to the haters, but I also belong to the LGBTQIA+ community. 🏳️‍🌈 💅🏽 Did you know according to a fertility study PMID: 15533359 showed, “Eighty percent of lesbian women, compared with 32% of the heterosexual women, had PCO on pelvic ultrasound examination. Thirty-eight percent of lesbian women, compared with 14% of heterosexual women, had PCOS. There were no significant differences in the androgen concentrations between lesbian and heterosexual women with normal ovaries. ” This study did NOT establish a relationship between PCOS and sexuality. It does show the IMPORTANCE of having a healthcare provider be aware of the higher prevalence of PCOS in lesbian women to ensure appropriate screening & management. Spreading PCOS awareness is INCLUSIVE of spreading information about EVERYONE it impacts. People with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) may have facial hair, known as hirsutism. This is from higher levels of androgens, like testosterone and can be seen on our face, chin, chest, etc. where it may typically be seen on a biological male body. As a woman with PCOS, this does NOT make us any less of a woman. We are impacted beyond our appearance in how we experience fertility struggles, rapid unexplained weight gain, food sensitivities, inflammation, painful irregular periods, and more.
